KIC‘s MB Allen Promoted to General Manager -- Europe

(San Diego, CA -- April 15, 2005) : KIC, the leader of thermal process development and control products, and winner of multiple VISION awards, announces the promotion of Marybeth (MB) Allen to the position of General Manager -- Europe.

MB Allen‘s new responsibility will be to develop the market of KIC‘s family of thermal process products throughout Europe, including the fast-growing Central European marketplaces. KIC has made a strategic decision to dedicate significant resources to European sales and operations as the lead-free conversion is driving European manufacturers to improve their thermal processes. The European market, as a result, is seeking new tools such as KIC‘s range of profilers, process optimization and control tools. As such, MB has been chosen to head the initiative. In this expanded role, MB will serve as a front-line customer interface while communicating sales, operations and R&D agendas.

The introduction of KIC‘s lead-free thermal process products to both existing and new customers constitutes a critical phase of new product development in the region. In executing the lead-free thermal products and multiple KIC programs, MB will coordinate internal and external technology seminars while providing a range of tools and services to customers and KIC sales personnel.

MB brings more than 20 years experience in the industry to her new position, which covers the territories of Europe, India, Africa, Middle East and Russia. She began as an electronics assembly representative of SMT, semiconductor packaging and thick film for 12 years. Then she came to KIC where she has been the North American Sales Manager for the last six years. During this time, MB has been the project manager for the VAR Partnership Program, which is comprised of manufacturers of equipment and materials for board and package assembly. She is an ASM member, as well as past chapter president of both SMTA and IMAPS. Also, as a worldwide speaker on lead-free technology in the thermal process, she is known as an industry expert. This expertise has contributed greatly to the industry‘s ongoing education in the lead-free initiative, especially through MB‘s byline on numerous industry papers and feature articles.
